Agent Charitable Fund Raises $75,000 to End Hunger in Michigan

Lansing, Mich. – Last Tuesday, golfers, sponsors, volunteers and community partners came together for the Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund’s (ACF) sixth Statewide Fundraiser at PohlCat Golf Course in Mount Pleasant. The 2026 event included a sold-out golf scramble, banquet and live and silent auction, and netted $75,000 to fight food insecurity across the state.

“We are grateful for the continued generosity shown by our field force, sponsors, volunteers and community partners,” says ACF Fundraising Committee Chair Shannon Childs. “Thank you for your steadfast support of our mission to end hunger in Michigan.”

Since inception in 2018, the Agent Charitable Fund has been dedicated to investing in Michigan communities. Adds Statewide Fundraiser Co-Chair CJ Griffin, “We are proud that all funds raised stay right here in Michigan and help support local organizations working every day to fight hunger. Together, we can ensure that local families have access to nutritious food options.”

Food insecurity continues to grow in communities across Michigan – a sobering reality that the ACF sees every day through their grant programs. As Statewide Fundraiser Co-Chair and ACF Immediate Past Chair Kelly Obenauf says, “This event is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together in support of a shared mission. Every contribution to the ACF helps strengthen Michigan communities at a time when food insecurity continues to impact families in every corner of the state.”

The ACF partners with Farm Bureau Insurance agents and county Farm Bureaus to direct hunger-relief grants and donation matches across the state. Available grant and donation match opportunities can be viewed on the Agent Charitable Fund website. Applications for grants and donation matches are reviewed by a committee of ACF donors every other month – the next deadline is Friday, July 31. The ACF, whose mission is to end hunger in Michigan, is a donor-designated fund administered through the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture. The Michigan Foundation for Agriculture, a 501(c)(3) governed by Michigan Farm Bureau’s board of directors, positively contributes to the future of Michigan agriculture through leadership and educational programming. Through ACF’s grant and donation match programs, clients and partners provide food and educational programs to Michigan residents struggling with hunger and aid the more than 3,000 hunger-relief agencies throughout the state.
