Agent Charitable Fund raises $75K to end hunger in Michigan

The Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund (ACF) held their fifth annual Statewide Fundraiser on May 14 and raised $75,000 to feed hungry neighbors across the state. The 2025 event was presented by Restoration 1 of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, hosted at PohlCat Golf Course in Mount Pleasant, and included a sold-out golf scramble, banquet, and live and silent auction.

“This event would not be possible without the continued support of our field force, local sponsors and community supporters,” said ACF Chair and Statewide Fundraiser Committee Co-Chair Kelly Obenauf.

“Thank you for championing our mission and allowing us to continue this work every day.”

The ACF partners with Farm Bureau Insurance agents and county Farm Bureaus to direct hunger-relief grants and donation matches across the state. Available grant and donation match opportunities can be viewed on the Agent Charitable Fund website. Applications for grants and donation matches are reviewed by a committee of ACF donors every other month.

“All funds raised at our Statewide Fundraiser will stay right here in Michigan, and will help feed kids, families and neighbors across the state,” said Statewide Fundraiser Co-Chair CJ Griffin.

“Food insecurity is a big issue, and we look forward to finding new and innovative ways to move the needle and help end hunger in Michigan.”

The ACF, whose mission is to end hunger in Michigan, is a donor-designated fund administered through the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture. The Michigan Foundation for Agriculture, a 501(c)(3) governed by Michigan Farm Bureau’s board of directors, positively contributes to the future of Michigan agriculture through leadership and educational programming. Through grant programs like Feeding the Future, Farm Bureau agents, clients and partners provide food and educational programs to Michigan residents struggling with hunger and aid the more than 3,000 hunger-relief agencies throughout the state.

The Garcia Insurance Agency was proud to participate in this event to help raise funds for those in Michigan who are hungry.
